Checklist report for check Server problem
Connection problems
1. Check all
connections, such as the Server to network switch or between the network switches
to network switches.
2. Check the status of network devices such as Switches or
Wireless Access Point, as well as network devices between Client and Server.
3. Check the functionality of TCP / IP
by Ping to 127.0.0.1.
4. Check the operation and status of the network by Ping to

80% .
Physical problem level
1. Check for make sure that server are not down.
2. Check that the peripheral devices are connected to the
Server is running normally.
3. Check The LAN connection of Server is normal or correct.
4. Check the operation of LAN Card on the Server to make
sure that not Error, including the connection problem.
5. Check that the device be installed on the Server for sure
that not have a problem about operating system on server not support .
6. Check for make sure driver that is installed correctly on
the Server.
7. Equipment to be installed on the Server that not has conflict
with the BIOS of the Server.
8. Check for make sure the cpu utilization less than 80%
9. Check for make sure that the volume Page Fault not more
than 20.
10. Check for make sure that the average queue length for a
time not more than 5 minutes, 20 minutes.
11. Check for make sure that the traffic Bandwidth on the
connection between the Server and Switches especially the TX does not exceed
80%
12. Check for make sure that network has broadcast less than
20% of packet all on network.
Problem about Name
Resolution
1. You can also Ping computer name or IP Address as well.
2. Check setting on DNS.
3. Check setting on WINS.
4. Check operation of LMHOST or HOST Files that work
normally.
5. Use command nslookup for check status of DNS Server
About Application problem
1. Check for make sure the applications service can run
operation on the network.
2. Check the application setting about network operation
that is correct.
3. Check event log and look for application error.
4. Check for make sure service application are not down or
restart application service in system again.
5. Check for make sure that application can run normally and
not show error on screen.
6. Check for make sure the server not show blue screen.
7. Check for make sure the server not has virus infected.
About print
server problem
1. Check for make sure the printer can work normally, and
all connection has completed.
2. Check for make sure the printer driver are install
correct.
3. Check print spool service on the server that can run
normally.
4. Check for make sure the hard disk space enough for use in
hard disk print spooling.
5. Check permission setting on printer or print server.
If your
network environment used Active
Directory Domain please check Group
Policy setting about printer
operation.
About email
server problem
1. Check for
make sure mail exchange (MX) resource record in DNS
that is correct.
2. Check for make sure the mail server have space on disk
enough for mail box operation.
If you want to you mail server get from other Mail Server, you
make sure that your Mail Sever has been configure and enable feature for mail relay
operation.
Check for make sure that you mail server has been configure
for receiver mail relay from your mail domain only.
